Summer Staff’s Hot List: Myescha

Have you traveled anywhere over the summer?
Sadly, no. This is the first summer I kept it local. However, in May I did get a chance to go to the Florida Keys with a few of my co-workers and had a blast!

Where do you go for sun?
If I get to travel, I go back home to Bermuda or to visit family in Nassau. If we’re talking about NYC, you have to get in where you fit in, so if I can’t make it to a good beach, there’s always a rooftop, a park, or a pool just a hop, skip, and a jump away!

What’s your favorite outdoor activity?
I love running, biking, and rollerblading (I know, it’s so circa 1995 of me!) Oh, and I also love to people watch, and there’s no better place than the city.

What are you listening to?
I listen to everything. I love, love, love music! It’s the universal language! My workout playlist has been a mashup of FrankOcean, Beyoncé, Kim Burrell, Keri Hilson, and Maroon 5.

What are you watching?
Let’s see… I’m watching “Modern Family,” “Mad Men,” “Parenthood,” and “Scandal” — I have loved Kerry Washington since “Save the Last Dance”! I also love all things HBO, and this season was all about “True Blood” and “Newsroom”! Looking forward to “Treme” this fall!

Summer Staff’s Hot List: Nailah

Where I go for sun…
The beach of of course! The Brooklyn Rockaway beaches are my favorite. The sun and fish tacos at Rockaway Taco make a perfect summer day.

What I’m watching…
The best film this summer (if not decade), hands-down, was “The Beasts of the Southern Wild.” Even if you’ve never heard of it, check it out. You’ll feel blessed. Also I caught up with my DVR episodes of “Girls and Luther,” as well as shows that will return in the fall like “Modern Family,” “New Girl,” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”

What I’m listening to…
I change it up depending on my mood. This summer I really took a liking to Lianne Havas, Frank Ocean, and Little Dragon. More often than not I listen to old school music like Tribe Called Quest, Fela, and others.

What I’m reading…
I read several magazines and newspapers on a daily basis. This summer I finished a couple random but very interesting books such as “The Help,” “The Hunger Games,”’ “Getting Happy,” and “Four Seasons in Rome” — which was interesting since I had taken a recent trip to Rome. Now I’m reading something more inspirational, “The Tipping Point,” by Malcolm Gladwell.

How I keep cool…
Starbucks Refreshers drinks… especially the Lime Cooler — it’s cold, caffeinated, and low in calories and sugar. Or I just bite into a nice cold piece of fruit. There’s nothing like it.

Favorite outdoor activity…
Swimming, beach volleyball, or biking. All great things to do during in New York’s hot summers.

What’s your favorite thing about our new offices?
The windows. I love having more natural light.

Season 2 Sneak Peek: Myescha

Tell us about your position.
I’m a Producer PA here at “Anderson Live,” and as a production assistant, I am a “Jane of all trades.” I give full support to our Associate Producer and Producer, I monitor the budgets, organize research, and coordinate travel arrangements, among many other duties.

What’s your favorite thing about working here?
Hands down, the staff! Individuality is definitely embraced here, and besides working with a very talented group, we also have a lot fun together!

What was your most memorable moment last season?
There are way too many to count, but the first thing that popped into my head was our show with Janet Jackson, when a superfan nearly passed out when we surprised him with the one and only Ms. Jackson!

What are you looking forward to most in Season 2?
I’d say… I’m looking forward to seeing the response from viewers about all the changes we’ve made to the show, I’m really excited, and I hope they are too!

What do you love about our new offices?
My cube… it’s bigger than what I used to have, and there’s much more shelf space. True to my Cancer sign, I like to have a cozy, comfortable, safe space, so my cube setup really allows for that!

What did you do on your vacation?
I had two months off and I was able to travel all over… I flew down to the Florida Keys  where I just did nothing! I went to Portland and went hiking, skiing and slept. I also went to Chicago, where I lived for 10 years, and hung out in Michigan — my parents have a cottage on the lake.

What are you watching?
Don’t judge me, but I started watching HBO’s “Girls.” I hated the first episode, but couldn’t stop watching it afterwards. I also watched both seasons of “Downton Abbey” in like, 24 hours.

What are you listening to?
I’m listening to Fiona Apple’s new album (“The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do”). Unfortunately, I didn’t get to go to a lot of live music events over the summer.

Where do you go for sun?
I’m not really a lay-in-the-sun kind of person, but I go running on the West Side Highway or pick a nice spot at Central Park and read a book.

What are you reading?
I read like eight books this summer, including one of Anderson’s book recommendations by Stephen King — “11/23/63,” which is about this guy who travels back in time to prevent the JFK assassination. It’s like 1,000 pages but it felt like it was 100. I could not put it down! I also read a really interesting historical book about President Truman called “Truman” (by David McCullough). If you’re into historical books, you’ll like this one.

Summer Staff’s Hot List: Kristian

“Anderson Live” staffer Kristian is the graphic artist for the show. Take a look at how Kristian has been spending his summer.

Where I go for sun…
Do I look like I get any sun?

What I’m watching…
“Breaking Bad,” “Adventure Time,” “Top Gear,” and I’m waiting for “Walking Dead” and “Game of Thrones” to come back on.

What I’m listening to…
Silversun Pickups lately when I’m looking for something specific, but usually I just have my music on shuffle which is mostly punk, rock, alternative, ska, reggae, etc.

What I’m reading…
I enjoy reading magazines for things like photography or digital art.

How I keep cool…
The air conditioner in my condo keeps me pretty comfortable.

Favorite outdoor activity…
Does motorcycle riding count?  Otherwise I’d say mountain biking.

What’s your favorite thing about our new offices?
Having a new studio to work with and design for.

Summer Staff’s Hot List: Madison

Tell us about your big move from L.A. to NYC:
The big move is definitely an exciting one. The hardest part was finding an apartment, but now that I have one, I am working on adjusting to NYC’s summer humidity and navigating the subway system. There is a great app I downloaded to help me figure out the fastest way to get places, which has been a lifesaver! A lot of my friends live here, so I’m excited to spend time with them and work with such an amazing group of people every day.

Where do you go for sun?
While in L.A. over the summer, I tried to go to the beach and lay out by my pool to get some sun. Now that I am in the Big Apple, I plan on utilizing the cute rooftop at my new apartment before summer ends.

What are you listening to?
I listen to all kinds of music, but I’m a sucker for top 40. I love listening to upbeat songs, especially when I am working out. This summer, like most everyone else, I could not get Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” song out of my head — it’s so catchy!

What have you been up to over the summer?
Over the summer I’ve been working in the L.A. office preparing for Season 2 of “Anderson Live.” I also got to spend a lot of time with friends and family before I made the big move to NYC, which was really fun.

What’s your favorite outdoor activity?
I love to go to the beach and relax with friends. Now that I live in NYC, I’m trying to explore the city and get acclimated as much as possible… so does walking around count? I found a great path by the river near my apartment, so I have been going on runs there before work.

What are you reading?
I’ve been traveling a lot for work so I’m definitely catching up on my celebrity gossip since I buy so many magazines at the airport. Everyone keeps talking about the “50 Shades of Grey” books so reading those are on my to-do list.

What are you watching?
I have been totally obsessed with watching the Olympics the past two weeks, which does not leave much time for other shows. I am a huge sucker for reality TV. Some newer shows I’ve gotten into are “Suits” on USA and “The Newsroom” on HBO. I have also always been a “Law and Order SVU” junkie — gotta love those marathons!

Today, the production team continue working inside the studio for another run-through.

Yesterday we had our first run-through with Anderson in the new studio. Staff members played the part of show guests!

Summer Staff’s Hot List: Kelly

Meet Kelly, who is the “Anderson Live” Talent Coordinator. See what she’s been up to this summer.

Where I go for sun…
As you can probably tell with how fair I am, I’m not a huge sun-advocate… I just burn so easily! I do enjoy going upstate to the Finger Lakes, but personally, I’d prefer a spray tan — it’s safer!

What I’m watching…
I’m a HUGE “Housewives” fan, especially NJ and NYC — so my Sunday and Monday nights are basically always booked. I’m also really into “Breaking Bad” and “Pretty Little Liars,” and I cannot wait for the next season of “Californication.” As you can tell, I’m all across the board on this one.

What I’m listening to…
I’m definitely not embarrassed to admit that I love a ton of songs on the radio — Carly Rae (Jepsen) is nowhere near being played out in my book. I also really enjoy Dave Matthews Band. But I do have to keep my street credit and share that I am obsessed with Mumford and Sons. Ever since I went to Europe I’ve been hooked!

What I’m reading…
I love reading magazines, especially on the train home from work, but I also do love a good book. I’m currently reading Andy Cohen’s book, “Most Talkative.” I figured I could learn a thing or two from him — that man is definitely doing something right.

How I keep cool…
My desk is perfectly placed right next to a vent in this office, so I’m always cool at work. On the weekends, I pool hop — all of my best friends have pools, which is totally convenient.

Favorite outdoor activity…
I love to run. It’s such a great stress reliever. I also live very close to the Hudson River, so I’m lucky to have an amazing park with a running path literally on the water. If you are ever in Rockland County (in New York), you should check it out — it’s called the Haverstraw Bay County Park.

What’s your favorite thing about our new offices?
I have a great view!
