Summer Staff’s Hot List: Ty

See what Producer Ty has been up to all summer…

What did you do on your vacation?
I had two months off and I was able to travel all over… I flew down to the Florida Keys  where I just did nothing! I went to Portland and went hiking, skiing and slept. I also went to Chicago, where I lived for 10 years, and hung out in Michigan — my parents have a cottage on the lake.

What are you watching?
Don’t judge me, but I started watching HBO’s “Girls.” I hated the first episode, but couldn’t stop watching it afterwards. I also watched both seasons of “Downton Abbey” in like, 24 hours.

What are you listening to?
I’m listening to Fiona Apple’s new album (“The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do”). Unfortunately, I didn’t get to go to a lot of live music events over the summer.

Where do you go for sun?
I’m not really a lay-in-the-sun kind of person, but I go running on the West Side Highway or pick a nice spot at Central Park and read a book.

What are you reading?
I read like eight books this summer, including one of Anderson’s book recommendations by Stephen King — “11/23/63,” which is about this guy who travels back in time to prevent the JFK assassination. It’s like 1,000 pages but it felt like it was 100. I could not put it down! I also read a really interesting historical book about President Truman called “Truman” (by David McCullough). If you’re into historical books, you’ll like this one.
