Summer Staff’s Hot List: Madison

Tell us about your big move from L.A. to NYC:
The big move is definitely an exciting one. The hardest part was finding an apartment, but now that I have one, I am working on adjusting to NYC’s summer humidity and navigating the subway system. There is a great app I downloaded to help me figure out the fastest way to get places, which has been a lifesaver! A lot of my friends live here, so I’m excited to spend time with them and work with such an amazing group of people every day.

Where do you go for sun?
While in L.A. over the summer, I tried to go to the beach and lay out by my pool to get some sun. Now that I am in the Big Apple, I plan on utilizing the cute rooftop at my new apartment before summer ends.

What are you listening to?
I listen to all kinds of music, but I’m a sucker for top 40. I love listening to upbeat songs, especially when I am working out. This summer, like most everyone else, I could not get Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” song out of my head — it’s so catchy!

What have you been up to over the summer?
Over the summer I’ve been working in the L.A. office preparing for Season 2 of “Anderson Live.” I also got to spend a lot of time with friends and family before I made the big move to NYC, which was really fun.

What’s your favorite outdoor activity?
I love to go to the beach and relax with friends. Now that I live in NYC, I’m trying to explore the city and get acclimated as much as possible… so does walking around count? I found a great path by the river near my apartment, so I have been going on runs there before work.

What are you reading?
I’ve been traveling a lot for work so I’m definitely catching up on my celebrity gossip since I buy so many magazines at the airport. Everyone keeps talking about the “50 Shades of Grey” books so reading those are on my to-do list.

What are you watching?
I have been totally obsessed with watching the Olympics the past two weeks, which does not leave much time for other shows. I am a huge sucker for reality TV. Some newer shows I’ve gotten into are “Suits” on USA and “The Newsroom” on HBO. I have also always been a “Law and Order SVU” junkie — gotta love those marathons!
