Meet “Anderson Live” Supervising Producer Kathy.
What is your role here at “Anderson Live”?
I am the supervising producer of the show, which I think is the best job because I get to work with all the producers. We have really fun, creative meetings where they come in with ideas, we get amazing bookings from the bookers, and we ask ourselves: how can we make this an over-the-top moment? How can we make a celebrity laugh? How can we make Anderson laugh? Overall, how are we going to do this segment in a way that is uniquely “Anderson Live”? That is our focus, and that’s what the viewers respond to, so, I come into the picture in between the original idea, and it getting to air.
What do you like the most about your job?
I could never have a job where I do the same thing every day. I am in the minute, it’s now, it’s fresh, we’re taping it, it’s airing, we’re moving on to the next show, and every new show is a blank canvas, so, that’s what I love the most about what I do.
What’s happening this summer in your department?
This summer, I actually got a lot of time off, which I was very happy about. I was so happy to recharge my batteries. Since coming back, in moving to the live format, we need to make sure that we are buttoned up, so we’re putting systems in place and making sure all the details are taken care of before the three-two-one countdown. It’s important that we’re ready.
What are you looking forward to in Season 2?
Some giant, humongous bookings, and moments that are coming… I’m over-the-moon excited. I think that the show has a personality and it doesn’t take itself so seriously, and we get to be playful — we get to have a sense of humor, in the office and in what the finished product is.
